Description

Standing before you is a small, yet muscular Svirfnebli.
His eyes are a darkened black hew with a redish tint inside.
His two eyes close together atop a abnormally large nose for his kind.
Thick, wiry eyebrows are situated just above his dark eyes.
He appears to have scars and odd wounds scaling his body from head to toe.
Black burns are seen upon his arms where wounds have been painfully
sealed shut. Dark grey course, wirey hair flows down his short back to
his thighs where it abruptly stops. Resting on his shoulders is
a very thick, muscular neck. His skin is seen as a scaley, pale complection.
Underneath his neck sits his short, stocky body nearly completely garbed
in various armors and furs protecting his pale skin from combat. Jutting out
from his sides are two muscular short arms with hands clenched to a fist.
Strapped to his back is a wide assortment of weapons and combat gear.
The armor covering his body is dabbed in blood and dirt. Bruises are
seen beneath his armor where blunt attacks have struck him in the past.
His piercing eyes stand firm, no facial expression present. His ears perk
to any noise heard. Dirt and grime coat his face and beard that is flowing
down the front of his stout chin. Two short, muscular legs stand firm
beneath his rock solid body. He moves with haste and poise as if he
were well trained in his profession. His lips are creased tightly
together. As you look on in wonder you seem to notice....

Chapter 1

A born leader
Added Tue May 1 13:43:55 2007 at level 42:

He stood over yet another corpse, his adrenaline pumping and
blood smeared upon his armor. Thinking deeply he felt the hole
in him, the gap that was once filled. What was it, what could
it be, he thought? Flashbacks of his childhood screamed into his
mind and he could once again hear the shouts of his kinsman from
Yalendure echoing off of the rocks. The sounds of the weapons
shattering off one another as they trained and trained. Briefly,
he felt at peace. He realized that he has come a long way from
the screams of his people in the night, and from the..chanting..of
the magi that destroyed everything he knew. He has joined a
group of strong warriors like himself, that thirst for the same
destruction that he, too, seeks. He walks a path that many shutter
to think of, that of the Berserker. He felt this path would best
lead him to his goal of destroying the chanting and greed that
brought destruction to the finest warriors in the land, those of
Yalendure. He continued to ponder what he has become, and he finally
realizes what the emptiness within is from. In Yalendure, Yudran
was a leader, he was deemed the finest fighter of his time in all
aspects of combat. He would teach and command groups of young
warriors to fight with courage. He knew that he was merely a
follower and he was not using his knowledge of combat to lead
as he once did. Thinking within, he realized that there are still
things in life that he fears. Things that keep him awake nights
and plague him with thoughts of his fallen kinsmen. How could he
lead with fear inside him, he thought. Remembering a wise fighter
of his village he recalled a lecture he gave answering that very
question. "Without fear, there can be no courage." he boldly spoke.
Finally, Yudran had realized what he needed to do..he was a born leader and
he must no longer sit back and follow..he must lead, he must teach courage.

Chapter 2

The First Awakening

His bloodshot eyes opened with a burst of lightning and a crack of
thunder. His clothing torn and tattered exposing him fully to the
harsh elements around him. A sharp stinging focuses his attention
to the cuts and bleeding wounds on his body. Slowly, he uses all
his strength to try and sit up, but he cannot and falls, hard on his
back. Just as his vision blurs and begins to darken he sees a bright
light and what appears to be feet before him. Slowly he slips into
darkness, passing out from the sheer agony of his wounds.

Chapter 3

The Second Awakening

Slowing slipping back into reality, he awakens once more to the
sounds of chanting and loud voices he is unfamiliar with. He opens
his eyes fully to see bars all around him. His nostrils are quickly
invaded with the smell of burning flesh and ember. Remembering the
wounds that once scaled his body he looked to find them sealed shut
with what he thought must have been a branding iron of some sort.
Trying to move his arms and feet, he realized they were shackled to
the cold hard wall behind. He peered through the rusted bars before
him and saw a group chanting something foreign to him around a burning
fire. He heard portions of their chanting that sounded as if they were
speaking of a new age coming upon them. Lightning and thunder filled the
skies with anger. Just then, one of them noticed his awakening and came
to the bars before him.
"You are the last of your wretched kind" it spoke in a raspy voice.
Thinking deeply, he could not remember anything of his past.
Speaking with a deep tone he responded "Who were my people?"
"You damned fool, your people were worthless, you are worthless" it cackled.
"The New age is upon us, no longer will you foolish beings be able to stop it."
"Stop it?" he asked.
"The Veil, you fool! Magic will finally take over these lands and there
is nothing you can do about it!"
Suddenly it opened the bars, caging him in, and began chanting something.
Pain racked his body as the words seared into his flesh bringing back all
of his memories like a raging river from the highest of mountains. Before
he could think a feeling of hatred and anger filled his heart as his eyes
went black once more...

Chapter 4

The Final Awakening

His eyes opened slowly to the pain he felt all over his body, a feeling
he could not possibly explain. He sat up quickly remember the cage he
was in and the creature chanting something that brought pain to his body...
the pain he now feels. Realizing what he had thought was a dream, was
actually reality he jumped to his feet to find a gruesome sight before him.
Mutilated corpes were piled over the flames that they once stood around
speaking of a new age. Odd wounds scaled his body from head to toe that brought
him the feeling of pain he remembered so vividly. A blood covered axe lay on
the ground at his feet glinting in the sunlight. Realizing that he had done
this his memories flooded his mind of what was once such a life of glory.

The Past

He remembered recalled his cavernous village, Yalendure, and his people
who dwelled in the far reaches of Thera. He remembered how they worshipped
warfare, and held Courage above anything else, even their lives. From
the day he opened his eyes for the first time he remembered being sent
to train in the use of weapons and the art of war. The gods and goddesses
of courage and war were worshipped above all things. His people were feared
for their might in combat and were never defeated in a battle led by steel and
brawn. Anguish suddenly filled his thoughts as the sounds of his peoples cries
filled his mind with hate. He remembered loud sounds of the chanting he heard
in the place he was held captive. The streams and rivers he once drank from
coursed with the blood from his people. Even though they were matched against
a "magic" so strong his people stood strong mutilating many. Men and children
alike stood side by side with sword and axe in hand doing what they knew best.
Having been named the most courageous and skilled warrior of their people he cut
through them like a blade culls its fields. The creatures noticed his strength
and all began chanting something that made his eyelids suddenly grow very heavy
and his body tired and weak. He remembered slipping into darkness with nothing
but the sounds of his dieing bretheren to haunt his dreams. That was the last
thoughts he remembered before waking up captured by the creatures that torment
his dreams and fill his heart with hatred and anger.

Chapter 6

The Present

He knew what his life would be dedicated towards in fear of the demise
of the once prosperous Thera. With that he remembered the creatures
speaking of "A new age" and "The Veil". He knew he must find out what
these meant to live in courage and reign over Thera as the Courageous
soldier from Yalendure that will bring an end to this "Veil". He will
show no mercy to these weak creatures and the morbid powers they wield.
He traveled Thera in search of answers to what the New Age meant and how
he could put an end to the "Veil" the creatures spoke of. He learned
that things happened during the Age of Chaos that brought about a rift
that broke between the material plane and the plane of magic. He learned
that this veil can grow stronger for the magic users or be destroyed as
each wielder of its source and each item flowing with its disgust die with
the rest. He knew this task would be one of much challenge and will require
him to hone his skills to near perfection. Learning of the Village, and
their quest being similar to that of his, he decided to seek them out
attempt to join their ranks. Though he cares for others that walk in his
same path he will not hold anything higher than his goal and will hold courage
above all else. Magic will die and they will find that even after death they
will come to meet my people in Elysium where they will forever feel the
strength of my people! Courage, Warfare, and the Gods and Goddesses of
my people will be worshipped with my life!
