Description

A fiery youthful look flourishes this vigorous Elf. Carrying
himself with a distinguished composure, as a proud Elf might.
Though his eyes give you the reflection of a thousand trials,
both good and bad, he looks about with a renewed and curious
gleam. While still able to reveal many of his minstrel traits,
what with all the various scrolls and fine instruments carried,
he looks a bit more cleaned up than most others of the guild.
Short, well-groomed spiky white hair covers his head thickly.
Several of the short spikes hang down over his forehead neatly,
as if they were placed a certain way.

The Mentor, the Wife and the Song: Part 1

Long ago, Meyrshal Gohaniellus was part of a small group
of high-born Elves known only amongst themselves as Sword-
Dancer's. Their technique was high evolved and extremely
ritualistic. The rituals consisted of singing tunes of
many variety to their blades, which made them come "alive".
The clan members did not apply to join, but rather, were
sought after and recruited. Then the Elves would spend
many years honing their skills as bladesmen. Though they
did not train to actively seek war. Instead, they trained
to protect the community and their structured lives of
prosperity. The Elves lived peacefully, but not without
order and hierarchy. They utilized a chain of command in
times of duress in order to maintain their livelihood and
peace--their sole foundation. They have lived hundreds of
generations using their technique to protect their
integrity, and continue to do so to this day.

Delvenus sang and the sword came alive in his
hands.

At first, I did not believe it. Moonlight is
often fickle
the crescent to alter the intensity of its light.
But if anything, the moon paid homage to the
sword. Its light was clearly diluted by the
luminance of the blade.

It started at the tip. First, the merest speck
of light. A spark, steadfast and unflagging,
welling like a drop of blood on a thorn-pricked
fingertip. It pulsed, as if it breathed. And
then it crept upward, finger by finger, bead by
bead, slowly, like a necklace of crystals.
Frowning, I watched one become some become many,
until the double-edged blade was ablaze with
light, sparks joining to form a whole.

Pulsing. Bright--brighter--brilliant...then
dimming nearly to absence, until it renewed
itself.

Delvenus sang on, and the blade burst into flame...

Meyrshal was happily married to another from the clan,
Terrashal. They had aspirations of creating a family of
their own, and living their lives peacefully within the
protection and peace of the clan. But it came to be that
his wife had other intentions--malice. It was a defeating
day in the village when Terrashal seized Delvenus during
a moment of his illness and weakness. She killed him in
cold blood, without a hesitant thought, blooding her own
blade into a powerful weapon. It was the hardest decision
Meyrshal had to make, but he knew he either had to stop
his love, or he would be defeated by his love. Some say
it was the tremendous amount of love and fidelity he
placed within his wife that granted him victory over her.
He pierced her heart swiftly in a long battle. The scar
upon Meyrshal's own heart is still evident. But it is not
something which represses him. In fact, it helps to
define him and the path in which he has chosen. Meyrshal
knew now what his destiny was--to crusade against evil.
He passed along his blooded blade to the Captain of the
Guard, who to this day carries on the traditions and
values of the clan. And so it is, Meyrshal parted his
own way...

The strength of the Sword-Dancer's blade is determined by
which it is blooded by. The Mentor, known informally by
the clan as Del, is said to be the strongest amongst the
clan. His blade was blooded by a terrible dragon-beast
that was being mentally inspired and tormented by the
Dark Gods themselves. Many perished during this great
battle, known as the Battle of Reindance--the name of
master Delvenus' blade. The invasion immortalized The
Mentor, after he slew the dragon-beast. Delvenus went
on to aid in the reform of the clan, and was quickly
renowned as its Elder Chief. To this day, it is through
his courage, honor and commitment that the clan is
inspired.
