The truth of this existence

Imagine if you discovered that your entire life was a lie. Not the
pedestrian deception of a lover's tryst, nor that of a parent who
had adopted you rather than birthing you - no. No imagine that the
lie was that you truly existed.

Whether by the curse of some gypsy, a cruel joke by one of the Gods,
a sharp blow to the head as a youth, or some other inconsequential
and equally unlikely turn of events, Enhal has learned that Thera is
not "real."

He is not fully aware of everything, of course. He does not know the
true nature of his existence. Perhaps he is just the dream of a giant
elder god creature. Perhaps he is a chess piece on a giant board, moved
by an invisible hand.

Whatever the full truth is, there is one thing he does know. None of
this faux-existence truly matters. This strange form of nihilism has
given Enhal a jaded view of the values of others. "Do you walk in the
Light?" "Do you use magic?" "Do you follow our laws?" All meaningless
questions intended to determine Enhal's status as friend or foe. Why
not ask the question as it is truly intended - "If I wish to kill you,
do my own self-imposed rules allow me to do so?"

It is with the above in mind that I ask you to consider Enhal's life,
actions, and ambitions, such as they are.
