Chapter 6

Uncertain times

Sekope sub-conciously runs his right hand across the back of his
head, fingers probing the surface seeking ... something ... as
his hand reaches the nape of his neck. He brings it forward and
examines it closely a confused look crossing his face as tho
he was expecting to find a little more than nothing. Grunting
something vague, he steps back into a brisk walk, tattered map
held in is hands as he moves from township to township. A number
of red lines run through many of the towns names. Reaching the
imposing gates of Hamsah, he baulks slighly, while the sight of
guards posted at the gates is now all to familiar, there seems
to be a disconnect between the memories he is now forming and
the memories he holds from the past. Sub-conciously he lifts
his right hand and stares at it for a moment expecting to find
something, until he is interupted by the words:

"Greetings, duergar, may your stay in Hamsah Mu'tazz be your
greatest pleasure!"

Peering around himself and seeing he is the only one without a
uniform standing at the city gates, he assumes that he is the
one being spoken to. Taking a step forward he pauses for a moment
before writing the words "Duergar" on the upper right hand corner
of his map before continuing on his way.
