The Event That Changed It All

Sekope stands motionless, eyes scanning the empty gym, head cocked trying
to hear something. There it is again, the crunch of gravel! Focus diverted
to the Northern side of the building, he does not notice the silent steps
behind him. All he hears is the whoosh of something through the air, and
then the feeling of warmth, reaching for the back of his head it feels ...

... Nothing ...

Startled by the sound Sekope sits bolt upright and is greeted by the words:
"Welcome to Thera!"

Subconciously reaching for the back of his head, a perplexed look crosses
his face as he struggles between a memory and what is happening. Stumbling
down a set of stairs he is greeted by the words:
"Welcome to the Academy, young adventurer!"
"Please proceed northward to begin your journey here in Thera!"

... Darkness ...

Two paramedics sit stunned looking at the mess before them. Large broad
straps holding the man on the stretcher before them have been completely
torn apart. The mans left leg is now littered with syringes of sedatives.
A paramedic holding a large bag of ice against a serious lump on his left
temple turns to the other and says:

"Who the hell is Jeseztha and what on earth is Thera?"
