The Early Years

Adzelino was born in the wretched village of Barovia on the
most eastern continent of Thera. Under the watch of the
Burgomaster, this village is infamous for treating its population
with scant regard. The Burgomaster is nothing but an extended
arm of the vampire lord of the southern keep that looms
ominously over the village. The villagers were tasked with
capturing any travelers that strayed from the path for the
resident lich to use in its foul experiments. It was in this village
that the transplantation and transformation of living organisms
through a mix of sorcery and surgery was worshipped. As such,
the village was filled with miserable lifeforms resulting from all
the failed experiments, unfit to live properly. Adzelino was born
the son of a drow witch mother and human father. His father
was found dead not long after conception and he was
abandoned as a child by his mother. He ended up being raised
by the Adentti sisters, the triplet sisters of the village notable
for being far less malevolent than the rest of the population of
the wretched village.
