Chapter 1

Ooglarr's Beginnings
Added Mon Mar 24 15:47:25 2014 at level 10:

Ooglarr was born in Ayr'Trinil, but he never knew his parents. Instead, he
grew up at the steps of Ayr'Trinil, in an orphanage in the ghetto. He had no
last name, no legacy, and no set path.

This rough-and-tough lifestyle showed Ooglarr a number of things, and taught
him even more. He was blessed to grow up strong, fit, and tall. Staying in
shape came easily to him, and from a young age he learned that there were
benefits to being tougher and stronger than others. He did his share of
bullying, but his quick mind figured something out: Bullying was
single-dimensional, and he figured out he could gain a lot more from
expanding his horizons. So, he began a business. Those he bullied could pay
him a small fee to protect him. This allowed him to take what he wanted from
those who tried to bully his customers, while his customers essentially paid
him to counter-bully.

A particularly brutal encounter when fighting two others while protecting one
of his clients left him with a peculiar moniker that stuck - Bloodbeak. He
was held down and, not one averse to brutality, used his beak as a knife.
Ripping the face of one of his assailants to shreds. From then on, the locals
and his clients would simply call him
The Bloodbeak, and he liked it so he let it stay.

Ooglarr realized that the desperate, weak, and dependent would pay and hand
over small fortunes to continue to feel safe and sheltered. As he got older,
he decided to make a fortune out of it and moved to Hamsah Mu'tazz. His
ultimate goal was to become a mercenary for hire, once he was older. A lonely
life he knew, but he thought there was a fortune to be made for one who
properly lived the mercenary life. Holding as few personal grudges as
possible and simply fighting for the highest bidder.
