Treyliu's Journal Entry: A Fated Vessel
Added Mon Oct 15 15:35:39 2012 at level 51:

Strange things manifest as it seems my fate has carried me into the midst of
a raging storm. I hear whispered rumors, speculation, and hints of things to
come. Still so much remains a mystery, yet to unfold. I gauge the winds as
they swirl all around me.

I recall a time many years ago when fate led me to aid the Fortress in their
attempts to close a dark portal that had opened near the Outlanders Tree.
Now, nearly a lifetime later, I am approached by a shadowy lich and asked to
steal something of immense importance. This thing- I would expect to greatly
aid in reopening something equally dark and powerful as the portal I had once
helped to close. Such actions are clearly dangerous, for myself and others.
But clearly this is no coincidence. I fear nothing except losing track of the winds.

I continue to see visions of my destiny- a thing to be avoided? A thing that
I might cause by doing something right, or wrong- or failing to do something
I was meant to do? Or perhaps it is simply the inevitable end to my story.
Our collective story.

I find lately that I am different than most of the other Islanders. They seek
to keep the balance as a stable and perpetual state of existence. That
purpose drives them. The focus on the end rather than the process itself. Whereas myself,
I am simply a vessel for the winds. I care not that the world is kept balanced any more
than I favor the Light or the Darkness- but rather I live for the movement,
as it is the imbalance that drives me to realize my fate, that carries me
toward my destiny. Calm winds anymore, and I am lost in this world.

Give me struggle then! Bring the storms!

I will seek out this thing, for if it can be stolen- then I am the one. And
should I hold the thing in my hands, I will look to the winds...and I will
know what to do.
