ORIGIN OF THE NAMES OF THE GODS, PART 2 -- By Juudsnelf

MARCATIS: MORE; CAT; PISS. There was once a time in ancient history where
the duergar race didn't have beards that were smelly enough. As such, they
would shout commands to their wives, "More cat piss!" for the wives to fetch
them a jar of heaping stinking cat pee.The duergar would rub their beards
in the jar, and have stinkin' beards. Marcatis' name is derived from this
ceremony.

DAEVYRN: DAEVY; RUN. Daevyrn's name is derived from the ancient pirate
Daevy Johms and how many had the tendency to run away everytime they saw him.
expression used was "Daevy! Run!"

JASTHREAN: JUST; THREE; HENS. Jasthrean's name is derived from a similar
time period as Rayihn's was. When the great Hen needed to be summoned for
rain to bestow the lands, the villagers would gather "Just three hens" and
force them to do the poultry merging dance, fusing the three hens into the
great Hen.

ZULGHINLOUR: BULGE; IN; SOUR. Have you ever had a sour bulge in your pants?
The cloud giants sure have. Their ancestors used to complain day in and day
out about their pants having sour bulges, before they understood the
mechanics of bathing, and the mighty Zulghinlour was named thusly as the
ancient cloud giants used to fervently believe he had the sourest bulge of
all.

Whiysdan: WISE; DAN. A man named Dan was once very wise. He would see
things using what he had two of (his eyes). He would see things, and name
them based on what they were. He would name things that were cats "four legs
with fur." One day he say a god as wise as was Dan, and he said "Surely you
will now be called the great Whiysdan."
