Role

Chapter 4

A hut eludes her.

Droma has made great efforts to get accepted as a Berserker of the Battle
Rager clan, yet the honor of a hut eludes her, while it has been been
besowed on some that, in her mind, lack the drive, skill and ambition she
has shown. This frustruates her, and though it does NOT discourage her,
she cannot comprehend what she is doing wrong.

She has accepted that the challenges of life will mould and harden her, but
she hopes that they do not anger and jade her as well. How can she stand
as a beacon of strength, and drill others in the ways of the Sapper if she
is aloof and unapproachable? It is a fine line she must walk, she realizes.

Sometimes she wonders if her road to becoming a Villager, and especially a
Villager Berserker, will be more difficult for her than others because she
is female, even though her prowess as a magi hunter and killer should endear
her to its members. Instead, she has been confronted by villagers question
her "hatred" and "bloodthirst" even though her actions against enemies in
their presence, suggest otherwise.

The only female villager she has come across, Sophia, is a Defender who has
taken on a more nurturing, coddling role within the Village, and Droma
refuses to be pigeon-holed in that role that does not define her properly.
In fact, she has refused the assistance of Sophia and her bandages, when
offered, as she feels inclined to "go it alone", without the help of others.

Droma relies on herself, and no other - and that may come across as aloofness,

Even such, she has gathered four recommendations and has earned the respect
of others within the Village, and she will relentlessly pursue the hut that
eludes her.
