Chapter 1

Courage Fuels Fire

Grawshen has been fighting the War for a full century now.

A berserker by nature, he has rarely backed down to a fight. In fact, the
courage that it took to get him here is now simply a fact of life, rather
than the guiding force.

Meditating a lot lately on himself, his distrust for religion due to their
betrayal in Aran'gird, and how he feels about Iunna's duels, sponsoring of
the tournament, and his and hers continued talks he finds himself looking up
to her as an idol.

So, Grawshen brings the courage for which he is renowned, to one more
challenge. Challenged to be forever mute, he has instead embraced the blazing
path of who he is. A warrior, touched by fire, and to live and die as a fire
does. Ignited, to burn red-hot, fueled by his courage and his drive to
destroy the magi and his enemies he turns to Iunna not for guidance, but for
inspiration. Her skills as a warrior were more than apparent as she beat
Grawshen effortlessly in three out of three duels, without Grawshen even
landing a blow.

And thus, Grawshen is mute forever. The last of the Black Dragons, and
Iunna's pupil.
