As the ever familiar beat of war drums sounded across the walls of Dis,
Dis's Weaponsmaster and Baal's Sword scrambled together towards the Palace.
For the first time in their infernal lives the War drums' beat signaled an
unknown enemy. It was not the forces of Dis Pater that assaulted the Palace
of Baal. As they scrambled towards the home of their infernal liege numerous
gray-clad men and women broke over the city's walls and poured into the
streets. A new enemy had arrived among the damned, and this one no doubt had
come to retrieve the object of their Lord's newest infatuation.
They arrived in Baal's inner sanctum to find Baal and his daughters preparing
for battle. The Maran... they were named. Followers of the Overgod Shokai.
Come to reclaim the vessel of the Dwarven Thane's soul.
Baal rose from his massive throne and called forth his Sword and his
weaponsmaster. Agrhealadean the Weaponsmaster was given the task of leading
Baal's armies into battle. Titivilus, Baal's Sword was entrusted with the
safe keeping of the hammer. With the tasks given out Baal descended into
Dis to wreak havoc among the living.
