A bone chilling wail echoed through the walls of Baal's Palace. Baal
and his daughters surrounded the blood drenched body of Titivilus. His
chest cavity had been torn open and his five hearts exposed to the elements.
As the daughters continued to serenade their father with an unholy melody,
Baal uttered a series of arcane utterings. Instantly three of the Devil's
hearts turned to stone. One turned black and slowly transformed into a
small violet orb. The other remained where it was, alive and beating as
the chest cavity slowly folded back and mended itself. This was Baal's
mercy. He had taken more than half of Titivilus's soul for his own. One
spark was left within to allow the Sword to continue its duties in Dis.
The other would be the vessel of his revenge upon the Maran. As the
daughters danced around their father, Baal turned to his throne and reached
out to the heavens. An earth shattering roar broke the eerie silence that
surrounded them. Through sheer force of will, Baal pushed that spark circle
through circle. Until it had broken free of the Inferno and entered the
realm of mortals. Here it would be free to float towards the greatest
concentration of evil in thera and be born into what ever blood that would
be strong enough to bare an infernal soul.
