1) Barrier is less potent than it used to be, and lasts a bit longer.
2) Aura is only partially compatible with Sanctuary. (Barrier remains 100% incompatible, i.e. you can't have both.) You can have both up, but Aura won't do as much for you in those situations.
3) Invokers can end up paying extra mana to maintain a shield on someone else. The amount of mana you used to pay was based on how much damage would be dealt after miscellaneous damage reduction (Aura, Stone Skin, etc.). It's now based on the damage before such reduction is applied.
