As stated in the previous announcement, our first truly seasonal race opens tonight at midnight system time: Centaurs. They will be staged such that six slots open at that time and then the pool grows as detailed before.

Currently Centaurs will not be able to do the Academy quest; that may change in the future. Note that their unique anatomy introduces some obstacles for the race not encountered by other races. A range of Centaur-friendly gear is available but not always easy to find; that pool of gear will grow over time.

See the LOG board for the introduction to the race.

FWIW, Scarabaeus did most of the work, though I know Zulg and I each did a particular smaller piece of what was needed.

Other people may have also helped out with centaur equipment or otherwise, this is just what I know of from the code side.

I notice, in game, system time is mountain time...or 3 am eastern is midnight system time.

Had a long role and good desc ready to go in, right at what I thought was midnight system time, I tried...no dice. I didn't see any of the 6 slots, either, so I think I am just mistaken on what is considered "system" time?

Or did it not go live? will it need a reboot?

System time was the intent; it was, however, delayed.

Then I had to go to a funeral... No centaur for me, missed all the frost giants too. :( *sniffs sadly*

Ooh well, #### happens. Perhaps I'll get lucky some day.

More slots open up in a week, and in two weeks they are unlimited and anyone can roll one...right?

I just wanted to be among the first with something for once. ;) hehe

+ the time-frame is looking slim in my book, I'm afraid that I won't be able to con/age-die the char before it disapears. :D

Very cool new addition and very intriguing. Just some random thoughts, are they tougher to trip? And do they get better charges? Are they considered giant size?

Yes.

And do they get better charges?

It was on the list as a possibility, but didn't make the final cut. It is, of course, subject to change.

Are they considered giant size?

They are size large.

Does that mean they take extra damage from canoewhack?
