2602, ABS in replacement areas
Posted by Zulghinlour on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
As I dove into a question about ABS in areas that were recently replaced I found a problem with a few of them that would cause them not to reset properly.

I suspect the iteration over the area files as they were being finalzed overwrote some things that were necessary for the ABS reset to work, and caused these to become broken.

I've fixed them up, and added validation at boot time so if they go missing again we'll know pretty quick.

This had my mind ticking wondering if my character might be impacted on this in otherwise un-realized issues. I would have been below the level to get sleeks when the new areas went in, and am really at a loss on finding some of them now that I am at the level to be able to and I keep wondering if there might be something wrong as I burn con trying more and more to figure out where the heck they might be.

If someone had not found a sleek that would have been in one of the old areas, when the new area went in they would have been switched to the new place right? I know you said that was the case for people that HAD found theirs in the old area, but my paranoia is starting to make me wonder if people that hadn't found them yet could have somehow been impacted.

And, I guess that it is safe to assume that the old areas and the new areas are equal in the possibile locations? As in new spot for each old spot?
