- We were going to do a special Halloween prize, but there wasn't really a good halloween-ish role that we liked, so that's been nixed. We elected to not teepee and egg the cabal or guild of the worst role either.

- We planned to do a special prize for best RP of the role in-play during a certain period; having gone through the results here, I was really happy with a lot of the RP quality overall, but I also felt unable to pick one winner that was head and shoulders above the rest. As a result, I've chosen the following characters (in order of entry) as having stood out a bit from the crowd: Drendan, Otgrahkgnel, Irhedieh, Alietrius, Zizzle, Aelyrion, Gravan. Each of these characters will receive a free edge in the next day or so; just check your edge list to see what you got.

Can we see some notes on the other chars please, maybe help me get more insight.

The notes I wrote this time around were just to help me remember which role was which in discussing them later. They're not useful criticism and probably not even coherent to anyone who isn't me.

Overall very few of the roles were bad, just, some really outshone others. Some assorted comments attached to no particular role to maybe give you some ideas of how to improve:

- Some roles weren't formatted well and were really hard for me to read. I tried to judge them on content but if your role is a giant block of unparagraphed text it can't help you any.

- Some roles took a lot of text to say very little relevant to the character's RP. This I'm also not a big fan of.

- Some roles told me a lot about a character's parents or ancestors, but very little about the actual character.

- Reading some roles, I couldn't really figure out why that character was what they were, class/align/ethos/sphere/cabal/etc.-wise, or, there was at least one other choice that made as much sense.

- Some roles were decent, but of a basic concept that I've seen dozens of times or more. These roles might do better in another contest (and Ray liked some of them more than I did), but at this point, for me, at least some small streaks of originality are key to my enjoyment of most roles.
