  This place is, quite simply, wet.  Everything around you,
from the 
fetid water, which rises as high as a human's knees here, to
the faint 
green mist that fills the air, would fit perfectly in a shrine
to a deity 
of moisture, if there were such a being.  Unusual plants block
out the
sky as well as your field of view in other directions. 
Considering the 
unfamiliar surroundings and nonexistent visibility, it's
really not all 
that surprising that you're lost.
