Twice in this fight, earclap succeeded to strike yet didn't seem to deafen them. Is it intended to have no apparent effect, or is it just so subtle I have no clue what it is?

Oh, and since the apparent tweaking, it does actually work in PK. Although this was a VERY lucky streak, in getting it off twice. I've still yet to see it 'deafen' by preventing spell casting, singing or even hearing words.

Jesus, do I ever hate whoever wrote deafen originally. This took almost two hours and a lot of cursing to fix right.
