There is no echo for not cheap shotting on a successful lash as there is with other skills. The only reason I care is that I feel that perhaps there isn't a chance to learn from your mistakes in this situation. Take a look at it?

What skills are you comparing to, I can't find anything else similar.

As it is, no, you don't learn from your mistakes, because you don't actually ever try.

With bash and trip, even if you don't cheap shot, you'll get a message that says: You attempt to kick them while they're down but can't find an opening, or something like that. With lash, successful lashes don't always give that message. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, and that can be against the same mob in one fight. Like first succesful lash yields nothing, and the second gives you the no opening message.

Perhaps it's useful to mention this is orc cheap shot and not thief cheap shot?

I remember it came up during our discussions last night, and it's intentional that Lash doesn't always drop someone fully to the ground. I think we're going to change the echoes to better describe the action, but the basic function is correct.

The reason for this is that whip specialists can be somewhat reliable with Lash, and unlike Bash or Trip, it's very difficult to take measures to counter it.

I think he compares it to bash, trip, and other lagging skills. To Laearrist though, you'll not those skills all set the person's position to "resting" until more attacks are landed, which I expect lash (in general), does not. However, I am relatively certain that lash *DOES*, when at it's MOST successful, give the opportunity to cheap shot. However, as you'll likely notice, lash isn't the most reliable, and probably doesn't knock the bejeezuz out of people like bash, etc, just a little disorientating, hence no opportunity to try cheap shotting.
