When I played Etalia. I was spaming blackjack and knocked out an invoker with shield of flames. He was knocked out, but then the spam went through and I blackjacked again and the shield of flames did damage to me and the invoker just walked away like nothing happened.
By Design?

Yup. Arguably bad design, but it's a pain in the ass to change.
