You can't undress while you're fighting.
Your bloody shackles scratches you.
The special guard is convulsing on the ground.
Snippit from todays drunken-fun battle. Why am I hurt if I can't do the motion..?

When I do remove item or remove all, I don't take bloody shackle damage. Little more info?

Did you try removing a cursed weapon when testing it out? Also try doing that during a fight. I don't know if it makes a difference.

i have a log file of about 900k from today so would be horrible to find during the 50ish fights I had... but if you want me to look hollar and I will...

This can happen in a narrow set of circumstances. Post a log section if you want (I can't tell without that), but I have a feeling I know what is doing it.

I was fighting Kelrizza and a whack of guards. I was shackled and thirsted. I attempted to remove my axe (battle) but instead it tried to remove my battle cloak. Every time I removed/equipped a weapon I experienced damage, regardless if I could wield it or not.

That's by design, though I updated the echoes about undressing so it specifies what you are trying to remove.
