idk for sure but I think the complaint is the stepping out of shadows didn't happen until after the trip but it should have happened on the initial sigil, probably fine either way, just semantics, he thought he was safe but he wasn't either way.

Despite being hidden, it becomes rather easy to recognize that a person's there when that person is being attacked, despite whether or not they've attacked back.

Therefore, the moment the hidden character in the log was struck by the sigil of pain, people are able to "see" them, despite being hidden.

It's not until the hidden character's first attack that they "step out of hiding", even if they aren't effectively concealed anymore.
