I don't know if this a change, a bug, or poor observation on my part, but initially archons were not drawn into combat with area spells/affects. Now it seems some area attacks do bring them into combat.

Nothing specifically has changed. A specific spell in question? My gut reaction is this is by design, and you just weren't observant in the past, but I'll look if there are specifics.

that some area spells were ok, and others weren't. Of course, finding out which ones were ok and which ones weren't was a messy business, so I didn't investigate very deeply.

Area spells from scrolls recited by the conjurer will hurt his or her servitors.

which area spells will hurt groupmates, which are usually not affected by area spells.


Some spells in enclosed spaces bounce of walls and can even hit the caster.

Probably that sort of thing
