20293, Incarnadine Lag Not Working
Posted by Arfan on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Daevryn said in the link below that incarnadine can cause a small lag with a spear, staff or polearm, yet it doesn't seem to be working.

In the log below someone pincers me, which is 3 rounds of lag for him, on the last of those 3 rounds the lagging incarnadine strike fires but he immediately grabs his axe and flees after the round is through.

Now he says it's a small lag, which would indicate 1 round of lag because it doesn't make sense to have lag less than a round (the smallest combat increment) since it is not cumulative, so it should have prevented him from grabbing the axe for that next round. On top of that he got a second command in right after to flee, so it didn't even change the parsing order or whatever you coders call it because you can see I tried to misdirect but that command didn't go through til after he was long gone.

It seems that it is either not lagging at all or lagging and counting against the round it strikes in, which would still be broken because lag isn't cumulative, and the effect comes off as no lag.

You have a misunderstanding of how diku lag works.

There are many abilities that lag less than a round of combat. This is one of them. A round of combat is a relatively long time that you can do all kinds of stuff... how many commands of get obj, wear obj, where, who, etc can you get in during a round of combat? Quite a few.

If you were expecting trip lag here... sorry to disappoint, but that was never the intention.

Please take any discussion of how wrong I am, how this makes no sense, why would this be, etc to the gameplay forum.
