The diamond dagger named 'Light of Redemption' is now broken!

The blade of this magnificent dagger is a single diamond, attached to
a hilt of polished mithril. It shimmers with an amazingly bright light,
the purest of white in hue, and could easily illuminate even the darkest
of dungeons. Even without trying the weapon out it is obvious the
undoubtedly magical blade would cut through most mundane materials like
they were wet paper.
The diamond dagger named 'light of redemption' is a dagger, made of diamond, and weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces.

The diamond blade snapped off the mithril hilt. Seems perfectly plausible to me.
