A Conjoined Home
Braziers resting upon wooden stands at the entryway provide the only light
to the windowless room. The spaces where windows had been have oddly been
boarded over and reinforced with thick iron strips. Several dining tables of
various sizes with mismatched chairs rest in front of a large fireplace, and
the smell of simmering stew fills the space from a massive iron pot set
inside the hearth. Above the fireplace hangs a faded painting of a half-
elven man, his blue eyes appearing peaceful and merciful. To the west the
home opens up to a large sitting room, but there seems to have once been a
separating wall there. A narrow staircase leads up to a sleeping area, and a
doorway to the north exits out to the quiet city streets.
