I'd always thought they were supposed to stack, so if that's not true, ignore this. If they are though, then something's wacky. I've fought a bunch now with them and the aren't working together. Here's just one example.

I'm sure there's some amount of rng and so it's not always identical damage, but I've been tracking it now and they aren't really stacking. Thanks!

Other forms of DR do a lot less (not nothing) for you stacked with Martial Trance -- including Resistance.
