A winged morosa demon arrives hunting for XXX, but is held at bay by the circle.
A winged morosa demon yells 'XXX! Now you die!'
A winged morosa demon's slice MANGLES you!
You have been KILLED!!
You have died, but the Carrion Fields are not finished with you yet!
Your soul is returned to the realms in the form of a ghost.
You will return to your corporeal state in a short while.
Be careful, for even a ghost should fear some dangers!
You feel some of your vitality drain out of you with this death.
If I flee from a demon and make it to a circle I should be permanently safe even if it chose to attack me earlier and is tracking.

I disagree with permanently. There is a way what you showed can happen, but I added some echoes to make it brutally clear when it does.
