Enslaved mobs spinebroke him, when it wore off, the mob screamed and attacked me, then when I used fallback, looks like it redirected to my snare, and my snare proceeded to beat Smithy's behind. GO WOODEN STAKES!

I can't repro this behavior, and I did find a couple things that needed fixing, but I'm not positive it fixes the exact problem you had here. Please post more logs if it continues next reboot.
