Entrance to the Transmuter's Guild
You stand in a large alcove off the central tower room. Here, stairs wind
upwards, occasionally lit by an explosion up above. Various bits of wood,
metal, and glass frequently rain down the stairs, most of them still smoking
with magic. What you can see of the upper reaches of the stairs from here is
blackened and scarred. You hesitate to go upwards but know that you must if
you wish to learn the craft of the Transmuter.

Intended or unintended that mental jolt cancels out bloodlust? Or does it just make it so I can't tell I'm affected by it? Or is it a bug? ;)

As Daevryn mentioned, part of the "jolt" can make you lose touch with your body for a bit, much like an offensive Desensitize. The bonuses are still there, but you're not able to tell. If you did a 'score' then, it would have lots of "?" as well.

But hey, at least he didn't throw Disrupt Organ there.

You've still got it, you just can't tell for a little while.

If you're familiar with Desensitize this doesn't work much differently.
