I'm playing a duergar. Brundlir tells me to go buy a shirt and shield from the Darsylon armorer. Only one problem. I get there and receive this from the armorer:

An elven merchant says 'We don't serve your kind here. Go back to skulking underground.'
An elven merchant glares at you, hoping you will leave without him having to do something more.

It might be nice if duergar (and drow too, I'm sure) simply weren't sent to buy things in darsylon, since they can't complete it anyway.

Brundlir just wants the gear. I'm 99% sure *you* don't have to buy it.
