Not sure if these items are rot death or not, but they haven't disappeared on me after a couple deaths, that said, after I retrieve them from my corpse, I can no longer wear them.

Not sure if there is a bug here or not but seems like I should be able to use them or they should be rot death.

This doesn't normally happen, so I'm assuming you died and got this stuff back from your corpse saving across a crash/reboot.

In that case, this is a known bug and one for which the fix is semi-complicated. It's on our big list.
