#636, "Idea that came to mind..."

This would be sort-of mimic other muds that have introduced to this concept to fair success, I think given our intensive pk-atmosphere, many newbies get discouraged at the fact the learning curve here is so steep, and there's only so much you can learn about combat at level 11 and under. I say we introduce a class which will be in essence an adventurer, and have a smattering of skills/spells/supplications, to get a player familiar with the core functions of the game. Enable them to also be exempt from PK-range, but say have them unable to possess or hold on to any rare items once they log out, in the same manner anyone under 11 would, if holding on to said rare items. Don't allow any cross molding benefits, don't allow the characters to re-make as new PC's, have it strictly a class that is invented for newbies to get a hang of the game with, but it also so that the class is inherently structured to be sought in groups and the like.

Summary -
Adventurer Class.
Cannot Engage in PK.
Cannot hold on to rare items.
Cannot loot corpses.
Cannot re-class into something else later.
Maximum level-cap at 30.

Idea for actual class build -

Skills -
Level 1 - Sword, Mace, Axe, Dagger, Hand to Hand, Staff, Parry, Shield Block, Enhanced Damage, Elbow.
Level 2 - Dirt kick, Light armor use
Level 4 - Knee
Level 5 - Second attack
Level 6 - Fast Healing
Level 9 - Meditation
Level 11 - Dodge
Level 13 - Trip, Bash
Level 14 - Third Attack
Level 15 - Pugil
Level 18 - Berserk
Level 20 - Warcry
Level 22 - Dual Wield
Level 25 - Disarm, Offhand Disarm
Level 28 - Hide, Sneak
Level 30 - Spin, Trance

Spells -
Level 1 - Detect Invis
Level 5 - Armor
Level 8 - Protection
Level 11 - Invisibility
Level 15 - Wall of Fire
Level 20 - Wall of Wind

Supplications -
Level 1 - Mend wounds
Level 21 - Haven
Level 25 - Crusade

So this class would be capped at level 30 and wouldn't be able to mend wounds to characters in PK range, this is more or less a class build to allow folks a chance to take a good look at the game, without needing to expend countless hours getting there teeth kicked in before they can figure out how to find jeweled broadswords, or silver rapiers.

Just a thought...

The problem is they can still skew pk battles -scouting, picking up dropped weapons, giving dodgy foes rafts to weigh them down (assuming no give is not on and it gets missed in combat spam),etc.
