Chapter 4

Teithiwr is the second of four brothers from a small wood-elf tribe at some
point in Thera's past. Even though he was not the oldest, he was often looked
to by his brothers as the leader. This was due to his thoughtful and organized
nature. His oldest brother was wholly unconcerned with anything except
spontaneous adventure, which is likely what caused Teithiwr to be more
deliberate in his actions. He is not necessarily cautious, but feels
comfortable when things have a bit of order to them. His younger brothers were
as wild as well, but were tempered in their chaos by Teithiwr.

He is also very interested in stories and histories of any kind. He would run
off for days and even weeks at a time to the huts of various hermits, shamans
and storytellers that lived away from the tribe to learn their stories and
histories. It was in these places that he first learned the stories of
creation and heard of the forces of nature that brought the world into being.
In present day Thera, they are called the Ancients. This will become his
obsession as he works to find a way to free his brothers from the void.

He is a fierce and loyal friend, but is not prone to vengeful acts. In his
time, he and his brothers often fought amongst themselves and yet were
inseparable. Their tribe also often engaged in battle with neighboring tribes.
Despite this, the tribes would often come together at festivals and the
harvest in a friendly manner, and there were celebrations and feasts where the
men would trade tales of war and work to impress the women of other tribes.
Just before the incident where he was ripped through the void in fact,
Teithiwr had begun a courtship with a beautiful young woman called Ceridwein.
He thinks of her often and has an amulet around his neck she made for him.

He is generally kind and happy, quick to laugh and would let a slight pass
without offense, but can fall into bouts of a cold and focused seriousness.
Some may see him as uncaring or unconcerned, and his smile and laugh might
feel disingenuous. It is simply that he often has many things on his mind and
a sense of responsibility that he is the only one that can set everything
right as it was supposed to be.

Chapter 3

It took months for Teithiwr to fully understand what had happened. What most
confounded him was that he could pass back through the void, but could never
return to the moment he left it. He always came back to the same time, a time
long before he and his brothers became separated. In fact, the giants still
battled on and had not yet been defeated, and no bands of wizards with their
mercenaries set out to raid from Maethien. He spoke with everyone that would
talk to him, but no one even knew of his family, not even his ancestors. The
druidess was kind and as helpful as she could be, she answered his incessant
questions, no matter how many times he repeated them.

She told him what she knew of the ancients. She spoke at length of her goddess
Amaranthe, whose presence she had not felt in ages. She spoke of Amaranthe's
mate, the Hunter-King Joheem, but beyond that it was mostly riddles and
nonsense to Teithiwr's ears. The priestess told him that he could start in one
of three places. There was Ergush, an immortal being of the Outlanders. She
wasn't sure if he was one of the Ancients or not, but she surmised if any
would be closest, it would be he and his priests. It helped that his priests
were also known as diviners and readers of natural signs. There were also two
great libraries of the land. One at the Inn of the Eternal Star, and another
near a monastery to the south beyond the now massive city of Galadon. It was
this second library she suggested he go. While the librarian was known to be
eccentric and a bit cold, she was also known as the Goddess of Knowledge. If
any knew or had any ancients texts hidden away, she would be the one.

In his early wanderings, he also heard of a village of barbarian warriors that
opposed magic in all of its forms. Knowing that magic was what had stolen his
life away from him, he began to learn of their ways and traditions. So it was
that Teithiwr set out for the Academy in Galadon, to better learn the ways of
warriors and begin his quest of vengeance and discovery.

Chapter 2

Everything went dark for a moment. All of the sudden, up was down, left was
right and inky blackness was broken only by points of light swirling around
him. He did not know for how long he fell, or floated, or whatever it was he
was doing. After some time, he began to hear voices, muffled at first and
distant, like they were behind a wall or on the other side of a rushing river.
Soon, he began to recognize the voices. It was all three of his brothers, but
he could not quite understand what they were saying. As the voices grew
clearer, so did his vision, things began to stabilize. He was still somewhere
dark, with only points of light to be seen, but he began to feel stable, like
he could contemplate up from down again. As what appeared to be forest started
to come into focus, he was able to make out a few words from his brothers.

"Ancients. Ritual. Lost. Help." The words were the only ones he could make out
even though there were more. The rest he could not understand, the words never
came in the same order and they were in various languages, many that he didn't
understand. Finally, his feet were under him, there was a clearing in front of
him and as he stepped through it, the voices stopped. He noticed movement to
his left, just a bobcat. There was a small stone tablet with some writing on
it, but Teithiwr ignored it. Things were quiet, and the clearing was
unfamiliar. He searched around and found a tunnel, when he came out the other
side, he was in an herbary. A small women in a druidic robe looked at him and
smiled at the bewildered look on his face with understanding. "Come dear, I've
got just the thing for those wounds, and I suspect I'll need to explain what
happened."

Chapter 1

Battle filled his senses. The clash of steel meeting steel and the thud and
rip of steel meeting flesh mixed with the panicked screams of the dying and
joyous shouts of the living. The smell of blood and death was muddled with
freshly torn grass and the musty odor of kicked up duff off of the forest
floor. Teithiwr could feel the sweat fall across his body, sharply stinging
him where it hit an open wound. Blood, sweat and dirt caused his hair to stick
to his face and he tried to brush it out of his eyes in the few seconds of
respite he had gained by striking down his foe. He assessed his place in the
melee and dove back in.

He had been separated a bit by the fighting and was driving back towards his
three brothers, who were holding a small glade where the women and children
had found refuge. The attackers were a force of wizards from the village to
the west called Maethien. They had hired mercenaries and had wizards bringing
forth all manner of elemental monsters. In fact, an explosion of fire erupted
on his left. Another huge fire elemental, he called out to the few remaining
warriors near him, and as a unit they turned to face it. It was at that very
moment his youngest brother called out in a panic, "NO! That one is going to
cast a magic....
