Nimrurl the Legend of the Battlefield

Chapter 0

VILLAGERS:
Nimrurl considers most of the villagers morons and no-goods. Two notable
exceptions are the destructor and commander Jin Roh. He prefers
to be alone. He listens to the words of the elders and proven fighters
of the villagers, but follow his own counsel. He will aid others only if
he gets something in return, that being knowledge, equipment or fighting
practice. Having been raised in a city with numerous shops he understands
the concept of trade. He much prefers just taking things though.

If someone gets knocked out and asks for aid, he might come, but
because he wants a chance to hurt the enemy not out of desire to aid
the villager.

OTHERS:
Nimrurl has learned to focus his rage on the numerous enemies of the
village. Having several outlets for his rage and given opportunity to
hurt others, this means he is reasonable peaceful to those not a direct
enemy of the village. If given good reason he will still attack others,
say after being attacked himself, to obtain better armor, or if insulted
enough.

Chapter 1

SPEECH:
Due to his upbringing in a reasonable civilised society (Udgaard) Nimrurl
has grasped some of the finer points of social interaction. Saying
hello for instance. He has also been known to offer a 'thanks' in some
situations. Nimrurl is pretty smart and he has a reasonable vocabulary
dealing with the basic facts of life such as fighting, eating, killing,
maiming, weapons and warfare in general.
When asked for an opinion he will often either keep it to himself or
offer a general 'hum' or 'yeah'. In general he prefers himself and
others to be short and to the point in speech.

MAGIC:
Nimrurl has eagerly accepted the village's hatred of mages, giving him
a focus for his own hatred and desire for destruction. Furthermore,
he firmly believes that in order to show true strength, one has
to abandon the use of magic, because it makes things 'too easy'.

PRIDE:
After having been accepted into the village by commander Jin Roh
he has become very proud. He wants to show that he can stand on his
own two feet as he puts it. He fights alone against worthy opponents
(i.e. player characters) to show his own strength. He will not ask for help
if knocked out say.
While he most of the time will eagerly accept gifts, he might refuse
on the grounds that it is 'too easy'.
Despite his pride, he is able to bear quite a lot of insults, dismissing
them as ramblings. He will not accept accusations of cowardice, or bad
talk about his commander however. Also, while he prefers winning there
can sometimes be a point made by making a stand. After all, the gods
ware generous and offers many lives.

Role

Chapter 2

Nimrurl's parents moved to Udgaard for reasons never revealed to their
young child. While the father through hard work and ruthlessness managed
to get accepted among the jaettes his son was not that lucky. Burdened
by the cold weather and unyielding wind he was easy prey for the bullying
jaette youth. He quickly grew to hate Udgaard. His parents were
mild by the standards of their people - after all, he was only beaten
every other day and often with some thought behind the beating. His
upbringing imparted several important lessons: Might makes right.
You can always get what you want if you are strong or sly or skilled
enough. Helping others is a waste of time, bully them to get what you want
instead.

Since Nimrurl was too weak to hurt his peers, he took his rage out on
dead things like rocks and trees. The countryside around Udgaard proved
the perfect place to rage and find some peace through destruction.

When he came of age Nimrurl left Udgaard and headed south to find warmer
lands. To his surprise he discovered that while he had been ineffective
in the cold north and among jaettes, his size and strength was more useful
in the south. For several years he lived as a bandit killing whoever he
was able to and spending any loot he found on food and alcohol. He had
no goal in life except to hurt those weaker than himself. He took
lessons in various warrior guilds throughout the lands, but was often
too unfocused to practice much or well.

All this changed when he met the drow warrior Iborenn. Despite his slim
build and low height there was a certain deadly quality to the drow that
impressed Nimrurl. When the drow pressed him about his goals Nimrurl
had little to offer except something about gold and the pleasure of hurting
others. The drow merely laughed and spoke of a way to greatness, that of
the true fighter. If Nimrurl was strong and dedicated enough, he could
become a great warrior, one who was feared and well known in all the lands.
Nimrurl became intrigued and decided to learn more about this true way.
