First of all, you're dead-on about change fear. Hell, it's a human condition with everything, I think.

You touched on this as well, but I do see the advantage of complaining sometimes, not flaming, but letting you guys know what's wrong.

For instance, people complained rather loudly, and sometimes harshly, about the flee/sleep-blackjack-sing sleep tactic which you guys THANKFULLY nerfed. Same with unblockable deathblows from battleragers.

Also, about Scion, it rocks now but when it did first come out there were 2 really big problems that a lot of people did see.

-The "mage bitch" problem, where all non-magical classes could never be in leadership and were subservient. You'd join knowing you'd have fewer powers and never be anything more than a mage's lapdog.

-The purpose of Scion. Now, it's got the whole "doomesday cult" RP thing, but when it first appeared it just seemed like a catch-all for empire/evil master refugees.

A lot of people were asking "What's the point of Scion?". Not just your clueless noobs, but long-time players as well.

If scions and the players hadn't bitched about the above 2, would you of noticed these problems and corrected them as quickly as you did?

Not saying we should all Graatch-out (though he seems to have chilled a good bit) but do you see how complaining can sometimes be beneficial?
