#19895, "Hostile to cabal"
|
Any chance that we could give someone to "take the safety catch off" against their own cabal, whereby other cabalmates become vulnerable to the player's attacks?
You could have the cabal inner announce that FRED HAS BECOME AGGRESSIVE when Fred does this, and give it 1 round of lag to the person that's taken the safety off.
At this point the entire cabal will stop trusting them, until the aggression is removed.
I think this would be good in many ways: - It would make trust most intuitive, and less mechanically toggled. - It would allow more convincing "pretences" and betrayals, since you could more readily pretend not to be part of a cabal. - It would allow all classes within a cabal to fight on a fair basis. At the moment, some classes are limited in what they can use against cabalmates, whilst other classes can use their full range of class skills. - It would enable more flexibility for internal cabal politics. At the moment, some fights are a foregone conclusion and thus can't even take place. - It would allow people to recognise a threat, and back down before it, instead of being able to ignore it because of game mechanics.
Similarly, I'd quite like to see a toggle where a high ranking immortal can switch a character into the pk of another character. This would give the victim a 5 second warning beforehand, and give the person who is outside the top end of the other's range the chance to "go aggressive". If used, then place them in the pk of each other for an hour. This would only take place where the lower level has effectively abused the protection of the gods in order to mouth off to a higher level in a manner inappropriate to the situation. For example, a level 1 should not be mouthing off to a hero. If the higher range character kills the lower range one, it should not count towards edges or pk count. It's simply a chance to administer the beating that a lower pk range character just deserved.
