I think it's easy to play armchair imm and judge a character based on one log that isn't from their point of view and in which it's obvious that you don't have all the facts.

I obviously haven't seen 100% of that character's life either, but I have seen him pick some fights that I personally considered suicidal beyond a reasonable chance of success.

As an aside, Baer's tattoo, if given to Srithra, would probably run him out of con in less than a week.
