Chapter 2

I do like having me feet on Jirash's desk. Godfather of Voralian City, keen
and savvy! Weren't much to it. I talked some folks into paying me some gold,
made the proper donations, and here I be. As the Design teaches, if ya got a
place in this world, seize it.

Now, I done picked this city to control strategically, see. All them Fortress
types live here, and I can be keeping tabs on their comings and goings. Plus,
it's clean. And I like it clean.

So, I be running the whores outta the inns, making sure them shopkeepers pay
up when it be time, and generally keeping the underworld here nice and
Orderly.

Been moving up those Imperial ranks too. I be a full Shadow now, if not one
of them Elite. Them other Shadows clearly look to me for leadership, and
rightly so. I be a man of panache and influence, if not authority just yet.
But I figure, I'll keep showing me stuff and sooner or later someone will put
me in charge of the Shadow outfit.

Fact, I'm already starting to judge who may hold Council seats in the future
to prepare for a vote.

I don't think Rhouder, the current War Master, is going to hold the spot much
longer. Ain't never seen 'em once in me whole life. Don't see an obvious
replacement for him, but I'll keep me eye out.

Laisren holds the position of Dread Lord, and I don't see much of him
neither. He told me he's biding his time, not moving up in his guild, so he
can learn some spells and become a vampyre. I dunno, but you can't lead when
you can't even mix it up with heroes, so I'm not sure what to do with him
neither. Again, no obvious replacement.

Bokrahr is the only Divine with any kinda titles, and he be seeking Lord
Destuvius as well. He is clearly highly favored, and I figure he'd have to
screw up real bad to not be High Priest. For the time being, he's the one I'm
working on the most.

All in all, things ain't going so bad for such a short time at it.
