Chapter 3

Deep inside I know it pained him, to see his own heir like this,
to say what he did, to live on as he does now.

He said "My son." I do recall a shiver throughout his voice. "I
relegate you to where you belong. No longer my Son."

These were words that sincerely cut deep but we both had to be
honest with ourselves. I did not belong.

It was something that we both knew, however neither of us wished
to accept the apparent facts.

The life of a blacksmith wasn't going to be mine. I wasn't made
to live within these halls nor their confines.

Honestly, I had thought this for years but perpetuated the lie
just as all the others around me had done.

Yet a child in their eyes, I left of my own accord, absent all
the ties and obligations of my former family.

A place of my own did not exist inside a city of stone but within
the woods that I called friend and home.
