Chapter 10

Borkahd has spoken with Lady Yean at length recently and was glad that he had
the opportunity to do so. They spoke on many subjects which included
strength, self-reliance, and mastery. She told him not to strive to simply be
a legend of Thera but to be better, to be more. Mastery is not enough. She
has accepted him and offered Her blessings.

Borkahd will strive to be the strongest of the strong and views all others in
three groups which will eventually be condensed into two. The first is a
temporary classification. There are those much more learned then he is and
are stronger for now and deserve a measure of respect. Those that are strong
compared to the rest of Thera, but still weaker then he is. And those that
are simply pathetic. The last group would include any who rely on magic or
those that wield magic, who lack self-reliance.

Borkahd plans on mastering not only physical combat but the history of war so
that he can learn from past victories and losses. He has recently became
known as an applicant for the Village, the only ones he feels worthy of
calling him brethren. He feels that their goals are in line with his own and
if he is to master combat it is the best place for him. If they are the
strongest in Thera, what better place for him to call home? He will learn of
their past battles and embrace their teachings. One day he hopes to be known
as a Warlord, a master of war.
