I started playing the game by just running FoN-Galadon-Emerald-Hamsah-Tar Valon and back, attacking anything that moved.
All the stuff you listed are defnitley valid points, but they don't really come into play until level 25 or so.
And you can't really play the game like an action shooter in the low ranks anymore, for a number of reasons. Ranking areas being more spread out, less lowbies, etc.
