That certain hidden exit in the academy. Perhaps add an echo when someone enters the room. ie "Not all exits can be found by loooking for obvious exists. Sometimes a keen eye can find other." Something of that nature, so that newbies will have some understanding of hidden exits.

By the time you're that deep into the Academy, you've found at least two dozen signs, and I think it's safe to assume that people know to read them by then. I'd agree if it was one of the earlier rooms.

The Academy is designed (in part) to give the tools to become a good explorer, and I think over-bludgeoning people might end up being counterproductive once they 'graduate' into the real world.
