Baby Steps

His first memory is a feeling of weightlessness and an unholy strength that
filled his entire being. Nothing of his mortal life was retained when he woke
in the stale air of his preparation chamber. So he has nothing to compare
his new state with but he is overwhelmed with his new state.

His first sight is an inscription of the dead standing before twin gates: to
the Heavens and to Hell. A judge stands before each gate, each with a rod
and an orb.

As he begins his new like free from the mortal burdens, he is occasionally
experiencing deja vu, or a familiar voice he cannot place. Experiences from
his previous like that may reside deep within his mind but unable for him
to unlock directly. He is confused, weary and slow to begin with. He steps
out from his tomb free from fear with no idea of his hidden power or his
past pledges and commitments.
