Description

You see a towering figure standing before you. He has pale skin with a light
blue tint. His hair is plastered against his skull as if he tried to
unsuccessfully get it to stay down. It is green with the appearance of
seaweed and is in such disarray that it resembles green snakes. His piercing
ice-blue eyes are always darting about, taking in his surroundings. His long
stately nose doesn't have a mar upon it. His square chin thrust forward in
defiance to the world. Upon his torso is a massive chest armor etched with
the symbol of a great wave crashing over rocks sending spray up. His massive
hands are gauntleted and clutching a sword. His arms and legs have matching
plates. But his feet are not protected with metal, but rather some old
leather barely hanging together.

Chapter 4: The adventure begins:


Draethus was always a slow learner, so it was not surprising that a simple
spell to mend wounds would be difficult for him. Added to the difficulty is
the fact that Draethus was not sure if the Water would heed his prayers. But
as time went on, Draethus was able to commune the most mundane of
supplications and it raised his hopes that someday, he would become a
champion of the Water, flowing through life as a river flows through rocky
canyons. And that is where we start watching this young paladin, the rest of
his life is yet to unfold..

Chapter 3: Draethus the Paladin


As the days passed and Draethus continued his prayers, he grew restless with
his life as a blacksmith. He had an urge to travel and see the world. So he
packed up his tools and the armor and weapons he had crafted over the years.
He travelled west of Hamsah and found the Voralian City. He enjoyed spending
his days on the Voralian river but still felt like he was meant for something
more. Then he remembered the Elven Paladin he met those years ago and went in
search of him. His travels finally brought him to Galadon where he was about
to give up the search when his stomach rumbled. He saw a soup kitchen nearby
and thought to get a bowl to ease the rumbling. At a nearby table sat the Elf
he sought. The Elf remembered Draethus from Hamsah and they talked over soup
and bread. After hearing Draethus story the Elf said he is not sure if one
can receive divine power from praying to the elements but if Draethus wanted
to try it, he would sponsor him to the guild.

Chapter 2: A New Beginning


He started his life as a blacksmiths apprentice. Unaccustomed to physical
work, his hands were full of blisters every night, yet he smiled as he felt
he had accomplished more in 1 day than he had an entire lifetime in his
fathers house. He learned to forge swords and armor and though he never
became a master artisan, his work was passable. He made a meager living in
Hamsah Mutazz until one day when a Elf strode into the armory he worked
and requested Draethus to repair a gash in his plate. Draethus had never seen
such beautiful armor before, silver with gold etchings. The stranger spoke
with Draethus as he mended the armor. Turns out the Elf was what is known as
a Paladin. A holy warrior on a lifelong crusade to do his Gods bidding.
This interested Draethus as he has always had an affinity for the elements,
rather than Gods. After Draethus finished mending the chest plate, he asked
the Elf if there was a God that watched over the domain of water but the Elf
was unsure. That day Draethus began uttering prayers to the oceans and seas.

Chapter 1: Prologue


Draethus Alkumbar was born to a noble house under the Aryth Ocean. As
eldest son it was his duty to train to replace his father, Lakorian as leader
of their house. Draethus was always a free spirit and didnt like the long
arduous hours studying protocols and procedures. Draethus has a younger
brother, Daktar, who was envious of Draethus and wanted to be head of the
house one day. When Draethus approached adulthood, he and his father had yet
another argument about Draethus not asserting himself enough in his studies.
That night Draethus had had enough and snuck out of the city and swam to the
surface. On top of the Aryth Ocean, he met a female Storm Giant who did not
know his identity. He fabricated a story about being a commoner who lost his
family and he was in search of a new life on the surface but did not know
where to start. She told him how to get to Hamsah Mutazz and he went
there.
