I have always thought that zombies of PCs should have more umph than any non-sentient corpse i can come up with. This would give necros reason to go out and activel try and pk BEFORE having a huge army. More risks but greater rewards as well...

Different pc types could give different types of zombies.. warrior types might give harder hiting zombies that did base level warrior skills, dirt, disarm, yada yada

Stealth pc corpse might produce a hiding sneaking zombie, along with something like dirt or trip.

Mage: Now this one would be tricky cause I don't really see zombies casting spells.. but if they did maybe base spells like faerie fire, slow, 1st tier invoker spells, magic missiles.

Priest type pc corpse: Naturally resistant to holy damage, maybe give this zombie a different type attack

Forest Classes: This one has me scratching my head but I guess when all else fails just giving them base level ranger skills?

Ofcourse the kicker to all of this you can only animate a pc corpse that you have made yourself. Want that buff zombie? Well go out and earn it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

This is something we've been kicking around for awhile but never got down to the specifics.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Is there a possible edge or something that could be introduce to alow your zombies protection from out of range or if it must.. an edge that that alows zombies to not suck away your exp for ranking?

One or the other?

In my experience.. i've gone and collected zombie which can take a majority of my login then flee from something and have them all taken away from in 2 seconds by hero out of range. Other times I collect them and then pretty much do nothing because i'm still essentially useless to groups who dont want to suffer exp wise if I use them(i know the lesser exp isnt that bad but to others it is). Or I log off and then start everything over next time.

It'd be nice if they were just as easily destroyed by hero's but gave you a benefit while having them(ranking, etc) or continue to be worthless in that regard but cannot be destroyed so easily by out of range setting up situations you will flee so they can ruins a lot of work for their own pleasure(ie, raid so you retrieve and might lose them fleeing, vortex, ice, various other methods).

Again possible edge choices thatn just throwing them out there for free.
