#82, "Immortal Bio: Lyristeron"

(Imp IMM) (OUTLANDER) Lyristeon the Derider of Order, Ancient Bane

You say 'Uhm, so... let's start this up then.'

Lyristeon says 'Sure.'

You say ''Please state your real name for the record.'

Lyristeon says 'Tony'

You say 'And your primary state of residence?'

Lyristeon says 'Confusion'

You snicker softly.

Lyristeon says 'Which means I live in Purgatory.'
Lyristeon says 'South Florida, where the dead go to wait to be taken elsewhere.'

You chuckle politely.

You say 'Living with all the retirees, eh?'
You say 'Ever kick one in the chins for fun?'

Lyristeon chuckles politely.
Lyristeon says 'No, that's not my style.'

You say 'Too bad, I hear it's quite exilerating.'
You say 'How long have you been playing Carrion Fields?'

Lyristeon says 'Since the first age.'

You say 'Back when Pico was just a pup, as they say?'

Lyristeon says 'I used to fight Jullias.'
Lyristeon chuckles politely.
Lyristeon says 'How is that?'

You say 'Impressive.'
You say 'Did you kick him in the chin?'
You say 'Shin.'
You grumble distractedly to yourself.
You say 'How the hell do you spell that?'

Lyristeon says 'We kicked each other around a lot.'

You say 'Neat.'

Lyristeon says 'Then I changed sides and beat up Shokai.'

You chuckle politely.

You say 'Who was or is, your favorite Mortal follower to date? Why?'

Lyristeon says 'Hrm...tough one. I would have to say that out of those who have gotten my tattoo it would have to be Kungkruk...but...'
Lyristeon says 'The others are not that far behind him in my eyes.'

You say 'Kung was the one, huh?'
You say 'Kung...'
You say 'one...'
You mutter quietly to yourself.

You say 'What made him the one?'

Lyristeon says 'You can always tell one of my followers, they have a nasty habit.'
Lyristeon says 'He used all three of my spheres very well.'

You say 'Frolicing with Imps?'
You say 'Er.. Nymphs?'

Lyristeon says 'Nymphs...Imps don't like to be frolicked with.'

Lyristeon says 'Water nymphs especially.'

You say 'Why's that?'

Lyristeon says 'Water sports.'

You chuckle politely.
You say 'Noted.'
You say 'What has been your most memorable Carrionfields experience?'

Lyristeon says 'I would say this interview, but, I wouldn't be deceiving anyone.'
Lyristeon says 'There have been so many.'
Lyristeon says 'As a mortal, there is no way to name just one.'

You say 'Want to list a few of them?'

Lyristeon says 'As an immortal though, I really do enjoy watching the players have a good time with my interractions.'

You nod.
You say 'I know you've gotten alot of good feedback on those.'

Lyristeon says 'That is a big rush.'
Lyristeon says 'If the players are enjoying it, I will keep doing it.'

You say 'Why did you become an Immortal?'

Lyristeon says 'For that reason mostly.'
Lyristeon says 'I wanted to make the game better for the players.'
Lyristeon says 'The staff here is great.'

You say 'It's all about the players then, huh?'

Lyristeon says 'And they do everything they can to make the experience better.'
Lyristeon says 'Everyone has their strong points.'
Lyristeon says 'I thought mine was to add a little bit of chaos through roleplay.'

You grin evilly.

You say 'How's that going, do you think?'

Lyristeon says 'Ask your lackeys what they think of my followers.'
Lyristeon chuckles politely.

You snort.

Lyristeon says 'Don't take that wrong.'

You snicker softly.

Lyristeon says 'If I enjoy the player and I like the way they do things, I try to do something special for them.'

You say 'Your lackeys have been pretty tough lately.'

Lyristeon says 'Regardless of their affiliation.'
Lyristeon says 'They have to be...to a point.'
Lyristeon says 'I don't expect someone to be a killer to be a follower.'

You say 'What's the most common trait amoung successful Imp followers?'

Lyristeon says 'They have a blast. They play hard at all times.'
Lyristeon says 'That is what I expect from a follower.'

You say 'What one piece of advice would you offer new players?'

Lyristeon says 'Stick with it. Everyone was a beginner at one time. There is no richer world to roleplay in.'
Lyristeon says 'Not many players at other muds can say they have been there from a particular age.'

You nod.

You say 'Speaking of...'

You say 'What one piece of advice would you offer CF Vets?'

Lyristeon says 'Good question.'
Lyristeon says 'Lyristeon would say, "I created Luck, just to piss off number crunchers, so deal with it."'
Lyristeon chuckles politely.

You chuckle politely.

Lyristeon says 'But, as a part of the staff I would say this...'
Lyristeon says 'For those of you who take the time to teach the newbies and not just beat on them, thank you. Without you guys, there wouldn't be so many new types of roleplay introduced.'

You nod.

You say 'That it?'

You chuckle politely.

Feel free to post some follow up question for the little Imp, they
might even get answered!

What a great question. I am glad somebody finally asked. Maybe somebody else asked, I don't remember. But it all started when I was nothing more than a slave for the Forsaken One...

Forsaken One: 'Look at my playthings, Imp.'

Lyristeon: 'Yes, Lord.'

Forsaken One: 'See how they fight for the right to live? They do this just to please me.'

Lyristeon: 'Yes, Lord.'

Forsaken One: The most interesting thing about them is that what they do is futile. Nothing more than a diversion for me. They will all die off when I tire of them and they make new ones for me to enjoy.'

Lyristeon: 'Yes, Lord.'

It was about this time I was starting to think this guy was a pompous ass. He was so full of himself and his playthings that he just ignored everything else around him...or so I thought.

Forsaken One: 'You think me a pompous ass, don't you, Imp?'

Lyristeon: 'No, Lord.'

Forsaken One: 'You need to work on your lying, you aren't very good at it.'

Lyristeon: 'Noted, Lord.'

Forsaken One: 'Would you like your own plaything, Imp.'

Lyristeon: 'Well, you gave me...'

Forsaken One: 'Not that you little twit!'

Lyristeon: 'Yes, Lord.'

Forsaken One; 'How would you like one of my playthings?'

Lyristeon: 'My Lord knows that I don't find those slaves amusing.'

I don't know if he understood the irony of my disliking slavery. He did leave me behind when he left, but for eons, I was his slave. Maybe his gift to me was more than the human head.

Forsaken One: 'Maybe if you had one, you would understand.'

Lyristeon: 'If you say so, Lord.'

Forsaken One: 'Then it is settled, this is your slave.'

Lyristeon: 'What is his name, Lord?'

Forsaken One: 'Name him what you wish.'

Lyristeon: 'What do you want to be called?'

At that point, a howling scream came from it's mouth. It wasn't in pain, it was just howling in answer to my question. I noticed no difference in tone, inflection or breaks to determine a word. He lived because the Forsaken One wished it, but in his cruelty, my slave could not speak. I decided not to treat him like a slave and just as someone who listened to me. After a few years of listening to me, he started to use facial expressions to his screaming to get his point across. When his body couldn't hold out anymore, the Forsaken One opened his mouth and howled at him and the slave howled right back. The Forsaken One ripped his head off and planted his skull on a rod for me. The eyes opened and he howled his greeting.

That was a few eons ago. We now understand each other completely through sounds and expressions.

His name is...Fred. Fred the Head.

I ask this because you IC I really couldn't see the Imp fitting in with Thar-Eris I guess. I remember back when us sylvans where trying to find out where Sald was and the hints now that you look back on them where obvious (Stupid moon). But I've just allways wondered how you work the gaping maw into the Outlander philosophy. Asides from using chaos magic and such to frustrate orderly cabals/chars. As well as encouraging the old Sylvans and new Outlanders to actually act like filthy anti-civilization savages that don't go into Galadon to buy pies and return potions.

If you are talking about this from a race issue, that is pretty much covered in help file. I was created before any of the other races. That alone puts me into the ancient storyline.

If this is about my religion, it is perfect for Outlander. It isn't so much about the chaos magic as it is about free will. Acting on your instincts to live another day. Survival of the fittest and not slacking off. It's a relentless pursuit that resembles the survival of the fittest. Use lies, theft, trickery, deception, murder etc. to get your way. Don't let anyone hinder you and bow to no one.

Not a description of the entire scope of the religion.
