#906, "Role saving..."

Is it possible to save roles in progress through crashes sort of like corpses are saved now, such that each role + you put in saves the role in progress? Nothing's worse than getting half the way through a role entry only to have a crash wipe it out. Happened to me twice with my last char.

you first type it up in notepad, save it, and then paste it into your role on the MUD.

My advice is to write it up in notepad, and use the wrapchop on Dio's to format it into 80 letter lines. That way it is easier to edit after you are finished to.

It runs from MS-DOS prompt? What version of Windows you running?

When you're in your client, click on the top left of that window. The MS DOS icon. A drop down list should come down and explore the submenus (especially one named EDIT if you have it) and click PASTE.

I'm pretty sure all versions of MS-DOS you're able to do that...

If you want some one-on-one help with this, feel free to e-mail me.

It really is a pain to lose all that work, and the only way to prevent that is to keep it saved locally somehow, then paste it in.

You might want to look into a new client though.

Myself, I don't use zMud. I use a not-so-popular terminal called ZOC, which can be found at www.emtec.com.

shrug, wave

zepawho?!

my client doesn't have anywhere you can click. The mouse is not active when I am using it. It is entirely text controlled.

Personally, I think it does the job, and while wintin etc look more swish, I'm happy to stick with mine, and restrict myself to macros, variables, aliases and highlights.
