#6009, "is DEAD!!"

My idea was to eathire make is DEAD!! be is DEAD! for npcs and only is DEAD!! for pcs... or is DEAD!!! for PCS.

This would make it much easier to search for pk fights in logs, and wouldn't ruin the old school and ever satisfying is DEAD

This will find the beginning of the fight, when the person yelled. If they didn't yell like you started with hurl or tigerclaw or something try "Name is gushing blood." Alternately you can search for Personname! which is what shows at the end of the line for something like Your pierce maims Person! These will let you find the fight pretty easilly in a log. Hope that helps.

Ever since I began to send everything to a .txt file...it has gotten hard to find those pk fights.

Here is what I came up with. This is for Zmud, but the basic concept works with any mud client that I can think of.

Make a macro, as in you press a key and something happens. But don't make it send any commands, just have it echo some text to your screen.

The one I use is this
#key F12 {#echo {LOG LOG LOG LOG LOG LOG LOG}}

That puts 7 LOG's on the screen. but doesn't send it to the mud. So...if I know some heavy pk is going to happen, I just hit F12.

If some pk happens, durign the loot or just after I die, or just after the Loot, I take the .000003 seconds it takes to hit F12.

That way, All I have to do is search my txt files for 7 LOG's...and I go right to pk fights.

"Death awaits ya all, wit nasteh big pointeh teeth!"

This would also make it easier for people to set up a trigger to 'get all corpse' on PC's and not mobs. Because of this, I doubt they will change it, not to mention it would be on the bottom of their list of things to do.

The coding would be all of a minute's work, but yes, the only real use for this would be for setting up triggers.

How about an echo when you pk someone? Just something that we can search through logs for. I know myself I tend to keep whole sessions in massive logs and finding an individual kill is a nightmare.

I thought he was saying he had a problem with triggers...

Assuming you landed the kill yourself, you could set up a trigger anyway.

I'm talking only when you land the kill, not when someone else does. Though, now that I think about it, maybe I'll just set up a SHOWME for when $target has died.

Try searching for the players name that you PKed. Sure, you'll run into a few of them where you did a 'who pk' or something like that, but you'll know that when you start seeing the name 5+ times in a row in the same spot that it's the PK fight. Just a thought.

Prevent use of "get all corpse" on pc_corpses for everybody but the killed guy?
Also put a small amount of lag on "get 1. corpse". Like several pulses.

So it would take around 15 seconds to clean the corpse totally if you really wished to do this?

Also: Could you add a variety to the death messages?
Simular to what you did with dodge/parry/etc.

"1345678889th mob is DEAD!!!" is just as boring as "You failed."
